EHA Story

1993
In 1993, a group of lay Catholic business leaders and educators founded Emerald Heights Academy as a nonprofit, independent private elementary school on Seattle’s Eastside.
The founders recognized the need for a school that upheld high academic standards while providing thorough spiritual preparation to serve individuals, families, the Church, and society.

1994
The school began with just three students in the basement of a home in Renton.
By 1994, as enrollment grew, the school relocated to Issaquah, renting space on East Lake Sammamish Parkway.
This location was outgrown by 1996, prompting EHA to move into the Knights of Columbus building in Bellevue.

2001
In December 2000, two of the school’s founders traveled to Rome to procure the cornerstone for Emerald Heights Academy.
The cornerstone, made of white Carrara marble, was blessed by Saint Pope John Paul II during a private audience on January 4, 2001.
In September 2001, the school opened in a new facility, sharing space with Temple de Hirsch Sinai in Bellevue.

2024
EHA moved to its current location at Eastside Calvary Chapel in Bellevue.
This tranquil and picturesque setting is ideal for fulfilling the school’s educational mission.
Nestled in the hills of Bellevue and less than a mile from I-90, the school currently serves students from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade.
